Foxconn Plans to Increase Number of Robots on Production Lines in China

Foxconn plans to boost the number of robots used on its production lines in China within three years, according to an August 3, 2011 report by the Taipei Times Taiwan. Foxconn's robotics plan is projected to deal with labor costs issue. Currently, Foxconn employs approximately one million workers and has around 10,000 robots working on the production lines in China. It is reported that Foxconn will increase the number of robots to 30,000 in 2012 and to one million by the end of 2013.
